IP1Hosting monitors your bandwidth usage by calculating the server's bandwidth (transfer rate) utilization, which is expressed as either GB/Month or Kbps (kilobits per second).
Every rented and colocated server has 20GB monthly data traffic included, in the event that a customer uses in excess of this amount customers have the option of pre-ordering additional traffic in 5GB increments or paying on a usage basis. Either method is cost-effective when compared to many of our competitors who charge a standard 2p per MB against our 0.5p per MB pre-ordered rate or 0.8p per MB usage rate.
For customers using in excess of 125GB of additional monthly traffic it is more cost-effective to purchase IP Transit in 1MBps increments.

| Pre-ordered IP Transit and Traffic upgrades charges are payable quarterly in advance. 95th Percentile Billing model (IP Transit customers), utilisation is measured at five minute intervals in each direction, leaving and entering the server. The level of utilisation below which ninety-five (95%) of the samples fall is the sustained usage. |
